ASI Health: What’s New in Spring 2026

Our mission at ASI Health is simple but powerful: strengthen community health by expanding access to care, creating pathways to economic opportunity, and honor the people who are doing the hard work day in and out.

This latest update highlights the impact of our work in action—from national recognition for one of our extraordinary caregivers and new federal resources that will help us expand workforce opportunities, to training programs that help community members build stable, family-sustaining careers. 🌟 Our Unsung Hero: Eva Arocho

Eva Arocho, an ASI Homecare Aide since 1991, was nominated as the Unsung Heroine Caregiver by the National Association Conference of Puerto Rican Women.

Originally from Lares, Puerto Rico, Eva has dedicated 35+ years to caring for vulnerable, homebound individuals with compassion and professionalism. She is especially skilled supporting clients living with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Schizophrenia, applying her ASI Health training and education.

Today, Eva cares for one of our own former homecare workers, continuing to deliver the same dignity and exceptional care she has provided for decades.

We are so proud that Eva will be recognized at an upcoming Chicago City Council meeting for her extraordinary service. Caregivers like Eva are the backbone of community—ensuring our neighbors can live safely and comfortably in their homes.

💰 Federal Investment: $750,000 for ASI Health

• Thanks to Sen. Dick Durbin, the recently enacted Labor–HHS funding bill includes $750,000 in federal funding for ASI Health to support employment and workforce initiatives that expand opportunity and strengthen community.

• ASI Health will work with the U.S. Department of Labor to secure and deploy the funding.

• This federal investment will help ASI Health expand programs that connect community members to training, employment, and supportive services.

📚 Free ESL Classes: Build Skills, Open Doors

• ASI Health is offering FREE ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to help community members improve communication and confidence.

• Participants will gain:

  • Stronger communication skills

  • Increased job opportunities

  • Greater confidence in everyday interactions

• Schedule: Through May 2026; Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30–9:30 PM
