🏆 Marta Cerda Named Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Leader in Health Care

ASI Home Care is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Marta Cerda has been named one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Health Care.

With 38 years of experience, Marta leads ASI’s evolution as a $12 million nonprofit serving Cook County through integrated home care, behavioral health, community health, tele-health, transitional care, and workforce development services.

Among her most significant initiatives is the development of a 19,000-square-foot collaborative hub in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood that integrates health services with workforce certification programs — a model designed to address social determinants of health and expand economic opportunity.

Marta also serves as Board Chair of the Alzheimer’s Association – Illinois Chapter and is a member of the NIH National RECOVER Taskforce.

🛠️ Pre-Apprentice Program Offers Career Pathway

Did you know ASI offers a pathway into the construction industry — no prior experience required? Our 14-week Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program provides hands-on job site training, classroom instruction, industry certifications, wrap-around services, and a stipend to help participants along the way.

To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, an Illinois resident, and hold a high school diploma or equivalency. A driver's license — or the ability to obtain one — is also required.

📚 Free ESL Classes: Build Skills, Open Doors

ASI Health is offering FREE ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to help community members improve communication and confidence.

• Participants will gain:

  • Stronger communication skills

  • Increased job opportunities

  • Greater confidence in everyday interactions

• Schedule: Through May 2026; Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30–9:30 PM
